Typical Small Cradle
  • The 21-200 Series of Connecting Rod Scale Systems consists of two AWS-200 Type Weigh-Cells mounted on a common base.
  • Two digital weigh meters provide simultaneous crank end and pin end weight readings.
  • Completing the system and supported on the Weigh Cells is a CUSTOM designed three point suspension cradle which gives the independent crank end and pin end weights.
  • Includes test platforms to weigh other items such as wrist pins and pistons.

The distance between scales, and the length of the cradle is adjustable to handle rods of different sizes. Change-over from one rod to another is a simple, four-step procedure requiring about 5 minutes.

  • adjust scale distance to fit master rod.
  • adjust mechanical counter-balance
  • push-to-zero the digital display

ADVANCE WEIGHT SYSTEMS can supply CERTIFIED connecting rod "Master", balanced to a customer specified weight condition. The customer must supply a rod machined to drawing tolerance to all dimensions with the crank and pin end overweight. The "Master" rods will be bright nickel plated and sealed to the accuracy specified. We provide a custom wooden storage box and certificates of weight and accuracy per MIL-STD-45662A.

Special systems beyond the capacities listed are developed on a "per job" basis. Advance Weight Systems has built Connecting Rod Systems for rods weighing more that 75 Kg. and more than three feet in length.
